About Breitling

Founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling in Saint-Imier and now headquartered in Grenchen, Breitling built its identity around the chronograph. The brand introduced the first independent chronograph pusher (1915) and the first dual-pusher chronograph (1934), and was a co-developer of the Caliber 11 automatic chronograph movement that debuted in 1969.

The Navitimer, launched in 1952, integrates a circular slide rule into the bezel for in-flight calculations and remains the most recognizable pilot's chronograph in production. The Chronomat is the brand's everyday integrated-bracelet sports chronograph, the Superocean covers dive watches across multiple price tiers, the Premier line offers more refined dress chronographs, and the Avenger handles oversized military-style pilot pieces.

Most modern Breitling chronographs use the in-house Manufacture Caliber B01, COSC chronometer-certified, with a 70-hour power reserve. Pricing typically runs $4,000 to $10,000, placing Breitling alongside Omega and Tudor as a serious mid-luxury Swiss option, with stronger emphasis on chronograph complications than either competitor.
